What type-type is

type-type is a free typing test and keyboard tester that runs in your browser. There is no account, no download and no clutter: open a page, start typing, and see your speed and accuracy. A second page shows every key you press, which makes it easy to spot a dead or stuck key.

How it works

The typing test offers 15, 30, 60 and 120 second runs. It measures correct characters, mistakes and time, then reports words per minute and accuracy. The keyboard tester highlights letters, modifiers, function keys, arrows and the numpad as you press them.

Both tests are client-side. Your keystrokes are processed by JavaScript in the page and are not uploaded.

Why it is free

The project is a small, independent tool built to be quick and pleasant to use. There is no paywall. If analytics or advertising are enabled, they are optional and load only after you consent; see the privacy policy.

Who runs it

type-type is maintained by its contributors as an independent project. It is not affiliated with a keyboard manufacturer. Feedback, bug reports and corrections are welcome at contact@type-type.app.
